Dengue:-

Dengue fever is so painful mosquito borne disease caused by dengue virus.

Mosquito involved:-

Aedes mosquito infected by dengue virus.

Pathophysiology:-

Clinical manifestations:-

1. Suddenly high fever
2. Skin rash
3. Sever headache
4. Pain behind eyes
5. Nausea and vomiting
6. Severe joints and muscles pain
7.mild bleeding from nose ,gums
8. Enlargement of liver
9. Failure of circulatory system

Diagnosis:-

1. Physical assessment
2. CBC count( low platelet count)
3. Ultrasound in case of liver enlargement.

Medical management:-

1. Paracetamol for reducing fever
2. Iv fluids maintenance for prevention from dehydration.
3. Blood transfusion (platelets) if needed.

Prevention:-

1. Away from heavily populated areas.
2. Use mosquito repellent
3. Wear full sleeve shirts and pants.
4. Use mosquito net
5. Regularly change water in air cooler.
